Book cover illustration for the Alan Williams novel of the same name, designed to wrap front and back covers.  Extremely well-connected, Alan Williams was the son of actor Emlyn Williams, godson of Noel Coward and close friends with fellow war correspondent Nick Tomalin. In Hungary for the 1956 uprising, thrown out of Algeria during the French war and lauded for his reporting in Vietnam, Williams’ experiences as a foreign correspondent informed many of his action-packed novels. Richard Burton bought the film rights to this book although a movie was never made.
