Illustration commissioned by Art Director Tiny Watts for a story in Woman magazine. One of a set of rare surviving illustrations executed in casein paint which gives a softer, matt finish than acrylic. Johnson used casein before acrylic paint became widely available to commercial illustrators in the UK after 1963.
