A splash of pink offsets the dark metal of a gun on this piece, a great example of Robertson’s painstakingly detailed work. Note the paper fibres evident on the crumpled ‘wanted’ poster, and the subtle scratches to the gun metal. The illustration was used for the cover of 'Death in a Sleeping City' by John Wainwright published by Fontana, published January 1st 1967. 

The original painting art board is approximately 19 cm wide x 30 cm tall.
