Sir Noel Coward, portrait for NOVA Magazine - Brian Sanders, Original artwork, 1970
1970, Original artwork watercolour and pencil on board
Playwright, composer, director, performer and noted wit, by the late sixties Coward was seen as the grand old man of British theatre (he died in 1973). Extremely well-connected, Coward habitually displayed invitations from notable persons on his mantelpiece, ostentatiously insisting on showing both the accepted and rejected missives.
The original painting art board is approximately 39cm wide x 39cm tall. The artwork is float mounted on to conservation grade mountboard and presented in a white wooden box frame glazed with anti-reflective glass.
