The Oldest Confession - Gianluigi Coppola, Original Artwork, 1972
Regular price £2,650.00 Save £-2,650.00/
1972, gouache on board, 38cm x 51cm
Cover illustration for the Penguin paperback printing of Richard Condon’s first novel originally published in 1958. Condon’s place in the hall of fame was secured by the publication in 1959 of the “The Manchurian Candidate” and a quartet of novels about the Prizzi family. The plot of The Oldest Confession circles around the death of a supreme bullfighter and the theft of a great Goya painting half-rendered on the cover with great technical skill.
The artwork is sold with an original The Oldest Confession paperback that features the Coppola illustration.
