Barbara Castle, Baroness Castle of Blackburn, was one of the most significant Labour Party politicians of the 20th century.  Grammar school and Oxford educated she was immensely proud of, and tended to play up, her working class origins.

The original painting art board is approximately 40cm wide x 48 cm tall. The artwork is float mounted on to conservation grade mountboard and presented in a white wooden box frame glazed with anti-reflective glass.
